About The Project:

Hodsock Priory is a secluded historic home on the border of North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. It is the home of George Buchanan, the son of Sir Andrew Buchanon, his wife Katharine and their children. The house has been in their family since 1765.

The house itself is not open to the public, but the gardens and woods are open to visitors every February during the snowdrop season. Hodsock Priory is also a very popular location for weddings which take place at weekends throughout the year.

This impressive building is lovingly maintained meaning that the refurbishments had to be carried out with the same care and sympathy to ensure these same high standards were continued. There was emphasis on the air conditioning in the halls as these had to be specially designed to ensure that the air is filtered throughout the room evenly, and that each individual unit lit up at night, as per the criteria requested. Another criteria was that the toilets and fittings were very luxurious and hence the products used were of the highest quality.

Derry Building Services completed all of the Mechanical services installation on the refurbishment of this listed building including:

Mechanical Scope:

  • Installation of new oil fired boiler plant
  • Installation of new LTHW heating system complete with heritage cast iron radiators
  • Air conditioning to new conferencing facilities complete with air source heat pump cooling
  • New sanitaryware and domestic hot and cold water installation
