95 GRESHAM ST, LONDON – PROJECT COMPLETION

» 10th December 2009

Derry’s were engaged in conjunction with The Hilson Moran Partnership to design, co-ordinate, test, commission and validate the £6.5million building services on this project, which was handed over to the client in August.

95 Gresham Street is located in the financial district of the City of London and is a mixed use development of Grade ‘A’ offices with ground floor retail units.

The development was designed to provide ten square metres of space for every person resulting in open, light and airy offices provided by a glazed atrium roof which is part new and part reconstructed Portland stone and copper cupola.

One of the features of this building is the retainment of the original Portland stone façade, behind which two buildings were demolished to make way for seven floors of high quality office space; four outdoor terraces; a restaurant; four 13-person lifts; four showers and a drying room as well as 62 cycle spaces at lower ground floor level.

The end result of this project is a ultra-modern office block discreetly hidden behind a prominent traditional stone façade, aesthetically complimenting the surrounding city landscape.

The M&E building services package involved the installation, testing and commissioning of the following:

  • Roof mounted air handling plant
  • Roof mounted gas fired & boiler plant
  • Roof mounted packaged air cooled chiller plant
  • 4-pipe fan coil air conditioning services to 7-floors
  • Addressable lighting controls installation & associated energy efficient lighting
  • Full PA/VA integrated fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control & CCTV installation
  • HV/LV power
  • Basement & atrium smoke extract systems
  • Full public health and rainwater installation
  • Bespoke sanitary ware installation
  • Supply and extract ventilation systems
  • Full fire sprinkler installations
  • Trend BMS system
